Harold “H. B.” Lawley, 90, of Pampa, passed away August 27, 2017 in Pampa. Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, August 31, 2017, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Scott Futrell, minister of Kentucky Avenue Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Mike Sublett of Hi-Land Christian Church, officiating. Military honors are courtesy of the U. S. Navy. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Lawley was born November 30, 1926 in Pernell, Oklahoma to Henry and Annie Lawley. He was raised in the Oklahoma area and moved to Kilgore where he graduated from Kilgore High School in 1944. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy after high school, serving during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946. H. B. had been a resident of Pampa since 1946. He married Ruth Marie Castka on April 30, 1948 in Pampa. She preceded him in death on November 9, 2003 after 55 years of marriage. He attended Kilgore Community College in 1950 and then attended Texas A&M University in 1952 where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering. Mr. Lawley worked for many years for Kewanne Oil Company and he retired in 1976. Shortly after his retirement, he would start his own company; Production Consultants, Inc. in 1977 and he would own and operate the company until 2004. He was a lifetime member of the AIME, a member of the American Petroleum Institute, and served as a Boy Scout leader for 13 years where he was a Silver Beaver award recipient in 1977. H. B. later married Edna Frances Brown on March 9, 2005 and they resided in Manchester, Tennessee. She preceded him in death on June 14, 2010. He was a member of the Manchester Church of Christ. After returning to Pampa in April of 2016, he became a member of Westside Church of Christ which later became Kentucky Street Church of Christ. H.B. was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, George W. Lawley; five sisters, Lowella Tate, Effie Ulmer, Ellen Kretzmier, Laura Mae Tinkler, and Cammie Seat. Survivors include two daughters, Shari Sublett and husband Mike and Deborah Ferrell and husband Jerry, all of Pampa; a son, Larry J. Lawley, Sr. and wife Sandy of Manchester, Tennessee; two stepsons, Johnny Brown and wife Linda of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Lt. Col Jarrett Brown and wife Jill of Nolensville, Tennessee; a stepdaughter, Shali Brown of Manchester, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Ferrell and wife Amanda, Christina Mearse and husband Adam, Joshua Lawley, Misty Love, Jeff Sublett and wife Kim, Staff Sgt. Chad Sublett and wife Kassy, L. J. Lawley, Jr., and Joanna Lawley; and four step-grandchildren; Shannon Parish and wife Dianna, Christian Brown, Noah Brown and Sierra Brown and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. The family would like to express gratitude to the Pampa Nursing Center for their wonderful and loving care.
