Harold Wilson Taylor, 78 of Pampa, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022 in Amarillo.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, August 22, 2022 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Worley Kennedy officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory. Viewing will begin at 8:00 AM on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 and on Wednesday, August 17, 2022.
Harold was born August 5, 1944 in Midwest City, Oklahoma to Harvie Wilson and Laura Irene Pope Taylor. He graduated from Star Spencer High School in 1961 and attended Oklahoma State University, where he met his wife Amy Lucile “Cile” Gordon. They married on December 28, 1965 in Pampa, where they made their home. Harold was a longtime rancher in Gray County. He served in the Air Force reserves for several years in the mid 60’s, before being honorably discharged. He was a longtime member of the Pampa Lions Club, serving as past president, board of directors, and serving as a district rep for Lions Club District 2T-1. He also served on the Lovett Memorial Library Board and the White Deer Land Museum Board. Harold and Cile were members of Faith Bible Church for many years. He enjoyed golfing when he was younger, hunting, and going to fish fries at the Horn B Game Ranch.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Marguarite Ruth Jayne and Laura Sue Pollard; in-laws, Robert F. “Bob” Gordon and Wilma G. Gordon; and a granddaughter, Alice Marie Taylor.
Survivors include his wife, Cile of Pampa; two sons, Dr. Robert Taylor and wife Anna and Michael Taylor all of Pampa; a grandson, Jonathan Taylor and wife Mikala of Pampa; two granddaughters, Ashlei Hastings and husband Cameron of Canyon and Abigail Wilson and husband Dakota of Pampa; two great granddaughters, Annalei Wilson and JoLee Taylor of Pampa; and two nephews, Jeffrey and Christopher Pollard.
