Helen Willingham, born on July 22nd, 1929, in Zybach, TX, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30th, 2025.
No services are planned. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
She was the beloved daughter of Kenneth and Florence Smith and sister to Charles Smith, Mildred Vickery, and Imogene Lyles, all of whom have preceded her in death.
Helen married Wayne Jesse Willingham on February 4th, 1947, and together they had one daughter, Saundra. They also lovingly adopted Teresa Lyles, raising her as their own after the early passing of Imogene.
Helen was a devoted grandmother to Jim Reid and his wife LouAnn, Sherrie Stafford and her husband Nelson Arocho, and Clifton Camacho and his husband Billy Gray. She cherished her great grandchildren, Lacey Stafford and Noah Reid, and her great great grandchildren, Cayson and Chandon.
Known for her love of games, Helen was an avid "Wahoo" marbles player. She enjoyed life to the fullest and could often be found at Granny's restaurant, listening to her dear friend Tommy Henson play Elvis music on his guitar.
In her later years, Helen was surrounded by the love and care of her closest friends, Dotdee Neil, Cathy Henson, and Otis Henson. Their companionship brought her great comfort and joy. Additionally, her granddaughters Sherrie Stafford and LouAnn Reid, along with Roxanne Carter, provided dedicated care and support during her final months.
Helen's warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on through her family and the countless memories shared with friends and loved ones.
