Henry J. Harnly, 81, of Cuchara, Colorado, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022, in Pampa, surrounded by his family.

A celebration of life service will be at 3:00 PM Monday, November 14, 2022, in the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Ronnie Ferguson officiating. A private family burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

A gathering of family and friends will follow at The Harbor Community Event Center, 708 N. Hobart St., Pampa, Texas.

Henry was born February 22, 1941, in Pampa to John and Ida Lee Harnly. He was a 1959 graduate of Pampa High School and a graduate of West Texas State University in 1965, with a degree in Industrial Arts. He married Sheridan Walker on August 3, 1965 in Pampa. Henry farmed in Gray County most of his life and formed Energy Agri Inc. in 1982. He moved to Cuchara, Colorado in 1993, where he was considered the local handyman and a rescuer of those in need. Locals recognized Henry when seeing his Jeep Scrambler driving around Cuchara on his daily rounds. He was man of great faith and led his family with wisdom. He had a deep love for the Lord, for others, and his country.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jimmy Harnly and Johnny Harnly.

He is survived by his wife, Sheridan of the home; his children, Leigh Chisum and husband Jeff of Pampa, Maury Harp and husband Tom of Plainview, and Matt Harnly of Midland; 7 grandchildren, Brittany Martin and husband Tyler, Blake Chisum and wife Ashley, Megan Harp, Isaiah Chisum, Emma Chisum, Jaden Harp, and Samuel Guy Harnly; 2 great-grandchildren, Madeleine Martin and Bridger Chisum; sister, Sarah Davidson of Kent, Washington; and brother, Lawrence Pickens and wife Tennessee of Amarillo.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Kindred Hospice.
