Herman Robbins “Herb” Gallagher, 89, of Pampa, entered into Heaven on March 17, 2018, in Lubbock. There are no services scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Herb was born September 28, 1928, in Grapevine to Velma Ruth Robbins Gallagher & Jessie Herman Gallagher. He was raised on a farm in Hondo, New Mexico, where he worked hard until he enlisted in the U. S. Army on September 22, 1950, serving during the Korean Conflict. During his time in the Army, he met the love of his life, Bettye Jo Ingram. They married on July 18, 1953. After his honorable discharge, he and Bettye settled down in Roswell, New Mexico. They worked for the life they lived, and had six beautiful children. After moving to Pampa, Herb worked for Ideal Food, retiring in 1985, and later worked for Frank’s Foods for 15 years. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Herb knew he was loved by all. There wasn’t a soul who didn’t know him, who didn’t know the impact he would have on your life. He was a shining star in everyone’s life. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him. Herb was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jess, and his loving wife Bettye on June 19, 2015, whom he is finally together with forever. He is survived by four sons, Don Gallagher, Ron Gallagher, and Russell Gallagher and girlfriend Twyla, all of Pampa, and Larry Gallagher and wife Gay of Liberal, Kansas; and 2 daughters, Teresa Gallagher of Amarillo and Robyn Carter and husband Chuck of Mesa, Arizona. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one very special great-great grandson.
