Iva LaRue Purcell

Iva LaRue Purcell, 89, of Booker, passed away November 28, 2023, in Booker.

Potential services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory of Pampa.

Iva LaRue Purcell was born at home in Cooke County, Texas on February 25, 1934, to Ivy and Lena Tyler.  She was the oldest of ten children, six sisters and three brothers. She graduated from high school in Quail, Texas and married Walter Purcell on July 15, 1952.

Perryton, Texas became home in 1967 where she was a busy mother and local artist. Active in her church and community service, LaRue loved everyone and shared her love of life and her faith in Jesus Christ.

Twin Oaks Manor, in Booker, Texas, cared for LaRue for some 23 years, providing excellent professional nursing care. The staff, under the exceptional management of Administrator Shawn Hoover, loved and attended to her every desire and need for care, for which her family will be forever grateful.

She is survived by Wayne & Melody Purcell; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She will be forever loved and remembered by those who knew her.
