James Darryl Burney, 66, of Tuttle, Oklahoma, passed away on November 24, 2022 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, December 12, 2022 in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with John Curry officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Darryl was born November 3, 1956 in Wellington, Texas to Marston James Burney and Doris Elaine Cummings. He graduated high school in 1975. On July 25, 1975, he married Tammy Lynn Whitsett-Biggers in Pampa. Darryl was a lifelong welder working for Cabot, Excel Machinery, and BNSF Railroad. Darryl enjoyed spending time at the lake with his family, especially his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marston James “Bud’ Burney; his mother and stepfather, Doris and Tom Nash.
Survivors include his son, Shannon Burney and wife Kori; daughter, Brandi Curry and husband Stewart; grandchildren, Allie and husband Stetson, Cambree , Tatum, and Bryson; two sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
