James Darrell DeMoss

James Darrel DeMoss, 87, of Pampa, died Sunday December 31, 2017 in Pampa. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Fairview Cemetery with Dale West, lay minister at First United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. DeMoss was born January 23, 1930 in Stillwater, OK. He Graduated from Pampa High School in 1948. He joined the U. S. Navy in 1950 and was honorably discharged in 1954. He married Barbara Scruggs on November 11, 1951 in San Diego. Darrel lived in San Diego for 30 yrs where he was a diesel mechanic. He spent 7 yrs in Grand Junction before moving to Pampa in 2001. He worked part time at Bartlett’s Ace Hardware and enjoyed working in his yard. He was a Methodist. Survivors include his wife, Barbara of the home; a daughter, Denise Carter of Corpus Christi; a son, Mark DeMoss of Grand Junction; two grandsons and 3 great grandchildren.Mr. DeMoss will be available for viewing at Carmichael-Whatley on Tuesday January 2, 2018, from 10:00 AM until his service time.
