James “Jim” Morris, 58, of Wichita Falls, passed away on January 1, 2025, at home, in Wichita Falls.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Mount Carmel Cemetery near Walsh, Colorado Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
James was born in Shattuck, Oklahoma on February 19, 1966, to Floyd and Nadean Morris. He graduated from Mobeetie High School in 1984. Following high school, he served in the United States Air Force until 1987. After serving his country, he was employed with DynCorp 1988-1994 as a jet mechanic working on T37s. In 1994, DynCorp laid off everyone and James went to work at KC Muffler shop in Clovis and Muleshoe. In 1996, he went to work for M1in Wichita Falls at Sheppard Air Force Base. He also Served in the Army National Guard from 1992-1997.
James was an avid outdoorsman, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bicycling, gardening, and taking care of his chickens. James’ home away from home was in the mountains of Colorado near Creede. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Augusta Nadean Morris of Pampa; grandparents, AJ and Laura Streeter of Canadian, and WJ and Imogene Shirey of Perryton; Aunt Shirly and Uncle Robert Swan of Amarillo; Uncle Clois Beaty of Tulsa, and Uncle Billy Morris of Wellton, Az.
James is survived by his daughter, Lindsey and husband Ace Boles of Amarillo, daughter, Kelci and husband Taryne Richardson of Clovis; his son, AJ Morris of Espanola; dad, Floyd Morris of Pampa; brother, Steven and wife Amy Morris of Amarillo; sister, Amy Lewis of Pampa; four nephews; and eight grandchildren that meant the world to him.
