Janice N. Trusty, 72, of Pampa, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022, in Amarillo.

Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, July 15, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church in Pampa with Rev. Ruby Moultrie, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Levelland and Rev. Jarrod Neal, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Pampa, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the funeral home.

Janice was born on October 4, 1949, in Pampa, to Milton and Correne Nichols. She attended school in Pampa, graduating from Pampa High School in 1968. Soon after high school, she obtained her license in cosmetology. On August 14, 1970, Janice married her best friend, Clyde Wayne Trusty. She was lucky enough to be a stay-at-home mom to their four children for the better part of their childhoods.

Later in life, Janice began working as a teacher’s aide at First Baptist Church and St. Matthew’s Episcopal Day School. She most recently worked as an aide at Grandview-Hopkins Elementary School, until she eventually retired. Her other full-time job was being Nana to her grandchildren. She was always with her grandkids and loved being their babysitter. Janice also enjoyed being in the outdoors, going fishing, spending time with friends and family, and playing the handbells at First Baptist Church and First United Methodist Church.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents, Correne and Milton; brother, Jerry Nichols; one sister, Rose Johnson; niece, Valorie Unruh; and nephew, Roger Nichols.

She leaves behind her husband, Clyde Wayne Trusty of the home; two daughters, Carol Trusty, and Amy Doucette and husband Jeremy, all of Pampa; two sons, Richard Trusty of Indiana, and Jeff Trusty and wife Kelly of Pampa; 10 grandkids; 4 great-grandkids; sister, Peggy Rodriguez and husband Domingo of Pampa; and numerous nephews and nieces.
