Janiece Bowers, 75, of Pampa, passed way on November 7, 2024, in Amarillo.
Celebration of life services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with retired pastor Lewis Holland, and Rev. Vondel Stevens of the St. Paul United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at the Roberts County Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, Monday at the funeral home.
She will be available for viewing from 3:00 PM -8:00 PM on Sunday, and 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM on Monday.
Janiece was born on June 7, 1949, in Pampa, to Robert and Lois McCain. She grew up and attended school in Pampa. Following high school, she lived briefly in Wyoming before returning to Pampa. Upon moving back to Pampa, Janiece would meet and marry David Bowers, and soon after they started their family. Although Janiece and David would part martially, they remained close friends throughout their lives. Janiece found companionship again when she married Cindy Giamalva.
Janiece was a gifted, adventurous, and fearless woman in many respects. She was talented in her profession in commercial painting. Janiece helped oversee many projects in both Amarillo and Houston during her career. Her adventurous side spanned participating in rodeo as a young woman, and she was fearless enough to ride bulls. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, spending time, and surprising her family. She also was an avid and skillful pool player who passed her knowledge unto her children. Above all, Janiece was a loving, sensitive, and caring woman who gave her all to the family and friends she loved. Janiece tried hard to make sure everyone had everything they needed. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Janiece was preceded in death by her parents.
Her survivors include her son, Richy Bowers of Pampa; daughter, Kasey Bowers and wife Ashley of Pampa; grandchildren, Skylar Bowers of New Braunfels, Kelton Bowers, Kennon Bowers, Lane McKinney, and Colt McKinney, all of Pampa; sister, Ina Rochelle of Pampa; brothers, Bobby McCain and wife Gwynn of Wheeler, and Danny McCain and wife Pat of Pampa; former spouse and father of her children, David Bowers of Pampa; former spouse, Cindy Giamalva of Burke; several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
