Jerry Davis Bruce

Jerry Davis Bruce, 88, of Pampa, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, in Pampa. 

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday, July 12, 2024, at Trinity Fellowship Church with Pastor Lonny Robbins, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 6:00-7:30 PM.

Jerry was born in Higgins to Thomas Glen Bruce and Sarah Melba Goettsche Bruce on August 7, 1935. He and his family moved to Pampa in 1943. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1955. Jerry graduated from San Jacinto School of Beauty. He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Baird on December 20, 1955. They had one son Jerry Vance Bruce.

Jerry served in the Army National Guard for five and a half years. He worked as a hairdresser from 1955 until 2020 when he sold his beauty shop, the Coronado Beauty Salon. Jerry won many 1st place awards in hairdresser competitions. 

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Melba Bruce; his wife, Barbara Bruce; son, Vance Bruce; grandson, Christian Bruce; and daughter-in-law, Lynda Bruce.

He is survived by his grandson, Jerry Ryan Bruce and wife Alisha, of Pampa; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Davis and husband Cody, Austin Bruce, Madison Bruce, Tucker Bruce, Claire Bruce, Paxton Bruce, and Mahaylee Rogers all of Pampa; great-great grandchildren, Jarrett Davis and Bracey Davis (on the way); sister, Sally Lehrmann; nephew Bruce Lehrmann and wife Jeanie Fowler; niece, Renee Shirley and husband Russell.
