Jesus “Puma” Santacruz 83 of Pampa passed away Saturday December 1, 2018 in Amarillo.
Vigil will be 6:00 PM Monday December 3, 2018 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel. Mass will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church with Rev. Francisco Perez, pastor, officiating.
Jesus was born on June 28, 1935 in Santiago Papasquiaro, Durango, Mexico. He married Natividad Ramirez in 1958 in Juarez, Mexico. He moved to Pampa in 1969 where he worked as a meat processor at Packerland packing company. Later he worked construction for Fish Engineering, Arthur Brothers and the Mundy Corporation retiring in 1997. He loved coaching his children’s baseball and softball teams and played until his stroke. Jesus was very active in his church, St Vincent dePaul Catholic Church. He was a member of Crusillista for 20yrs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sisters and a son, Javier “Harvey” Santacruz.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Natividad; 3 daughters, Rosario Martinez and husband Perfecto of Pampa, Maria Davis and husband Buster of Pampa, and Carmen Chau and husband Jacob of Hewitt; 3 sons, Salvador Herrera and wife Martha of Juarez, Jesus M. Santacruz of Juarez and Antonio “Tony” Santacruz of Pampa; 26 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
