Jill Guffey, 40, of Colorado City, passed away on January 10, 2021 in Colorado City.
Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Monty Montgomery, her father, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.
Jill was born August 2, 1980 in Amarillo. She graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1999. She enjoyed playing all the sports when she was growing up, but softball was her passion. She played on several championship teams in Amarillo as a kid. After high school she lived in several cities including, Grenada, Mississippi, Paducah, Kentucky, Pampa, and for the past 2 years she has lived in Colorado City, Texas. Jill worked at convenience stores, truck stops, fast food restaurants, and hotels. She would always greet the customers with a smile and strike up a quick conversation. Jill was the life of the party, seemed to always be the center of attention. She collected Gel pens and Sharpies that she used when she would color in adult coloring books. She also enjoyed reading.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Tracy Montgomery; her father, Billy Guffey; a brother, Joshua Sharp; grandmothers, June Bunn and Evelyn Guffey.
She is survived by her boyfriend, Jody Wilder of Colorado City; sister, Chelsea Lake and husband Justin of Pampa; 2 brothers, Dale Montgomery and wife Brittany of El Paso and Eric Byram of Amarillo; and her father, Monty Montgomery of Pampa.
