Jim Bob Herring, 73, of Pampa, passed away on February 11, 2025, in Pampa.
No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Jim Bob was born on March 13, 1951, in Wichita Falls to James Herring, Jr., and Virginia Herring. His family moved to Pampa when he was a young boy, and he grew up and attended school in Pampa. Shortly after finishing high school, he entered the workforce. Jim Bob had a long career in the oil & gas industry where he worked in various capacities and served with several drilling units that included Leonard Hudson Drilling, Spalding Energy, among others.
Jim Bob married his wife, Sue, and she later preceded him in death. Jim Bob liked the outdoors where he found enjoyment hunting and fishing. He was a social man who never met a stranger, and he liked to visit with anyone he came across. Jim Bob will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sue; a sister, Andrea Robinson; and by two stepsons.
Jim Bob is survived by two sisters, O’Nita Robinson, and Gayla Mulholland; a brother, Dale Herring; nieces, Michelle, Lisa, Sara, and Maryanna; nephews, Rodney, James, Cy, Malcom, and Brian; and other extended family.
