Jimmie “Jim” Don Gilbreath, 72, of Lefors, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024 in Amarillo.
No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Jim was born June 12, 1951 in Pampa. He graduated from Lefors High School in the class of 1969. After high school, Jim had one semester of college before he started in the oil field. His entire career was working in the oil and gas industry. Jim retired in 2018 after working for environmental service companies in Houston. On February 14, 2019, he married Rhonda Gilbreath, and they resided in Lefors. Jim was baptized at an early age in Lefors Baptist Church and has kept his membership there ever since. Jim loved spending time fishing and golfing.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa “Terri” Whitley; a grandson, Trever Sluder; and a brother, Larry Gilbreath.
Survivors include his wife, Rhonda of the home; his parents, Dean and Delena Young of Ft. Towson, Oklahoma; two daughters, Melinda Kern and husband Larry of Kansas City, Missouri and Jenna Deutschendorf of Clinton, Oklahoma; sister, Linda Cooley of Ft. Townson, Oklahoma; two step daughters, Amber Arnzen and husband Bryan and Starla Hamilton and husband Shane all of Pampa; 5 grandsons, 5 granddaughters, a great grandson, and a great granddaughter.
