Jimmy Jernigan

Jimmy Jernigan, 75, of Iowa Park and formerly of Lefors, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Jimmy was born September 8, 1949 in Seymour, Texas to John and Hazel Jernigan. He graduated from Lefors High School in 1969. Over the years Jimmy managed several convenience stores. He then went to work for TDCJ as a correctional officer at the Jordan Unit in Pampa. Jimmy retired in 2011. In 2018 he moved to Iowa Park to live with his daughter, due to some health issues. 

Jimmy enjoyed boating and spending time at the lake. He also was a huge animal lover and enjoyed riding horses. Jimmy has always loved cars; he was so meticulous about his sports cars and kept them in tip-top shape.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and 8 siblings.

Survivors include his daughter, Cristain Jernigan and wife Dana Richards of Iowa Park; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
