Jo Ann Welch, 82, of Pampa, passed away on December 9, 2018 in Amarillo. Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Mike Watson of Hobart Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Jo Ann was born on December 29, 1935 to Nettie Lee and Tom Claterbaugh in Shamrock. As a young girl her family moved to Pampa where she attended school and later graduate from the class of ‘54. Jo Ann would meet the love of her life on a double date and several months later they would wed on February 26, 1955 in Lefors. Mrs. Welch worked in the clerical field for many years working for Energas, Sears, and Montgomery Ward. Jo Ann was a long-time member of The Church of The Brethren but later became a member of Hobart Baptist Church of Pampa. Jo Ann was an active lady who liked to spend time with her husband as members of the Pampa Round Dancers Club and she also liked to bowl. Mrs. Welch was a talented artist who loved to paint. But her family was the most important and special thing in her life. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, by a daughter, Pamela Welch, and by a brother, Roy “Corky” Claterbaugh. Her survivors include her husband, Carrol Welch of the home, by a daughter, Debbie Larkin of Amarillo; by a grandson, Joshua Larkin and wife Emily of Ft. Worth; by two granddaughters, Andrea Hahn and husband Brady of Pampa, and by Noelle Fisher of Plainview; by 5 great-grandchildren, Jesse, Tristan, Alexander, Cooper and Dax.
