John Lynn Goes

John Lynn Goes, 74, of Pampa, passed away, Tuesday, May 5, 2020 in Pampa.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, May 11, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Erickson, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

John will be available for viewing from 11:00 AM- 8:00 PM, Saturday and 1:00PM- 8:00PM on Sunday at the funeral home.

John Lynn was born on November 25, 1945 in Haynesville, Louisiana to John and Mildred (Teenie) Goes. As a young boy his family moved to Pampa where he attended elementary school, Robert E. Lee Junior High, and graduated from Pampa High School. After high school he attended West Texas State University before joining the National Guard and served for several years.

John worked for Cabot, and a few years later he found his calling and joined the Pampa Police Department, serving for many years and retiring as a Lieutenant. John loved photography. He owned and operated his own photography business for several years in Pampa. Mr. Goes was a longtime member of the Zion Lutheran Church.

John was preceded in death by his parents and by his aunt and legal guardian, Mona Blanton.

His survivors include his 3 cousins, Jerry Blanton and wife Helen of Amarillo, Jan Goodwin and husband Richard of Denton, and David Satterwhite and wife Dwanna of Ft. Worth. He will be missed by his family, extended family, and a great host of special friends in Pampa.
