John B. Rogers

December 27, 1924 — February 21, 2019

John B. Rogers, 94, of Denton and formerly of Pampa, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 in Denton.

Celebration of Life Services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, February 25, 2019 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor of Central Baptist Church of Pampa, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mr. Rogers was born on December 27, 1924 in Frankell to Charlotte and Lonnie Rogers. John enlisted in the U. S. Army Air Corps and served during WWII as a staff sergeant. After his service, John went to work for the Texas Railroad Commission as the district director, retiring after 30 years of service. John married Jackie Patton on May 26, 1973 in Pampa. Mr. Rogers was a former longtime member of Central Baptist Church of Pampa and was a lifetime member of the American Pet Institute with the Panhandle Chapter.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

His survivors include three daughters, Ladella Perry and Pamela Allen, both of Sanger, and Nancy Zeller of Tioga; six grandchildren, Tami, Tina, Nick, Kathy, Jack and Lynn; five great grandchildren, Ashley, Skylar, Serina, Sydnie and Owen; and three great-great-grandchildren, Zayden, Adalyn and Zaira.
