Johnnie Estep, Jr., 74, of Pampa, passed away on Monday July 3, 2017 in Pampa. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday July 8, 2017 at Carpenters Church, with Rev. Jim Sinyard, pastor, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Estep was born on May 3, 1943 in Littlefield. Shortly after, his family moved to Colorado where he attended school for several years before they returned to Texas, where he lived and attended the remaining years of school in Hereford. While living in Hereford he worked with his family on several farms and also worked as a truck driver. In years later he would work and live in Big Springs before settling in Pampa in 1982 where he resided ever since. After arriving in Pampa he went to work for Attebury Grain working as a clerk and truck driver for several years. Johnnie was a Church of Christ member. He was a hardworking man who always took good care of his family. Along with caring for his family, Johnnie was generous to others and he was always eager to give a helping hand and never could say no to anyone. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Reed and husband Roy of Pampa and Debbie Estep of Big Springs; three sons, Danny Estep of Pampa, Randy Estep of Nacogdoches and Drakian Estep of Pampa; a step-son, Carl Atwood of Pampa; four sisters, Ruth Sims of Hereford, Barbara Nazworth and Effie Leinen, both of Borger, and Sharmin Branin of Panhandle; a brother, Ben Estep of Panhandle; step-mother, Jaunita Estep of Panhandle; 19 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. He was preceded by his parents, and by his wife Patricia Ruth Estep.
