Johnny Ray Doan, 57, of Pampa, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024 in Pampa.
Memorial services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Highland Baptist Church with Melford Hanks officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Johnny was born April 10, 1967 in Pampa. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1985. Once he graduated high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served faithfully for four years. He was stationed in Germany for majority of his time. Once he was discharged, he returned to Pampa.
Johnny started working with Topographic Land Surveyors at the age of 14 to gain knowledge and experience. He enjoyed researching the history of surveying. Once he returned from the military, he went back to work with Topographic for a total of 15 years. He then went to work for Apex Surveying in Canadian for several years. His most recent job was working for Open Range Field Services as a surveyor and draftsman.
Johnny was an observed trials bike enthusiast growing up. He also played baseball all during his grade school and high school years and later picked up softball. He formed Doan’s Truck Repair team and competed in city leagues for many years. Johnny loved to talk, and he always had a story to tell. He was outgoing and enjoyed being around people. On August 10, 2017, he married Tanya Cross. They loved each other and enjoyed spending time together.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Bromlow; son, Zach Doan; and a sister, Robin Hyatt.
Survivors include his wife, Tanya Doan of the home; daughter, Robin McCright and husband Keeton of Amarillo; bonus daughter, Stephanie Moeller and husband Matthew of Pflugerville; bonus son, Tyler Hassell of Amarillo; father, Max Doan of Pampa; and a grandchild, Kam McCright; step sister, Tammy Bromlow Stone of Pampa; step brother, David Bromlow and wife Susan of Pampa; aunts and uncles; Betty Wolfe of Pampa, Jim Doan of Pampa, and Pat Carter and husband Ogden of El Reno, Oklahoma.
