Jonathan was born on September 2, 1992 in Amarillo to Michael Edward Taylor and Tabatha Ann Anderson Mathias. He attended school in Pampa and was a 2011 graduate of Pampa High School. After graduation, Jonathan worked at Culberson-Stowers for a short time before going to Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology where he earned his associates degree. Jonathan then went to work for the City of Pampa for several years. He later began his career at Hunting where he was employed at the time of his passing.

Jonathan married Mikala Brianne Furgason on March 6, 2021 in Pampa. He enjoyed skeet shooting, collecting Pokémon cards, playing video games, and reading. Jonathan also worked as an auto mechanic and would spend a great deal of time “tinkering” with cars. Jonathan thoroughly enjoyed pranking his mom. He was very proud of his beard and worked hard to maintain it as well. However, Jonathan enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family and playing and building things with his daughter, JoLee. Jonathan had the biggest heart. He was the gentlest and most patient person in the world. If you knew Jonathan, you loved him. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, son, and friend.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his sister, Alice Taylor; his paternal grandparents, Harold and Cile Taylor; his maternal grandmother, Letha Adams; and his papa, JL Furgason.

He is survived by his wife, Mikala Taylor of the home; daughter, JoLee Jane Taylor of Pampa; his mother, Tabatha Mathias and husband Nils of Pampa; his father, Michael Edward Taylor of Pampa; two siblings, Brittany Rhoads, and Tanner Mathias and wife MaKaylia all of Pampa; one brother-in-law, Nathan Furgason and wife Bennett of Pampa; one sister-in-law, Kolbi Linder and husband Ty of Pampa; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Susan and Johnny Furgason of Pampa; seven nieces and nephews, Aniston and Levi Linder, Emma Mathias, and Theo, Eva, Penny and baby Furgason on the way; and grandparents, Jack Adams, Conde Mathias, and Lorene Reece; grandparents-in-law, Guy and Sharon Thompson and Helen Furgason; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
