Joseph "Joe" Gutierrez, Jr.

Joseph “Joe” Gutierrez, Jr., 70, of Pampa, passed away on September 3, 2023 in Amarillo.

Services will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Brother Marcos Apodaca, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Joe was born on October 24, 1952 in El Paso to Amalia Trejo. He married Ramona Barraza on February 14, 1975 in El Paso. Together, they had two children, Ivan and Nadia. In 1980, Joe and his family moved to Pampa. He worked as an insulator for Mundy for 29 years. Joe may have retired in 2009, but he never stopped working. He was always working on one project or another at home. Joe enjoyed remodeling his home and took great pride in it. He especially enjoyed taking care of the “honey do’s” for Ramona.

Joe loved spending time with his family. He liked to host cookouts for his family and take his children and grandchildren to the lake as often as he could. Joe adored his wife more than anything and he would do whatever she asked of him. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Amalia Trejo; and one sister, Zenaida Salazar.

He is survived by the love of his life, Ramona Gutierrez, of the home; his favorite son, Ivan Gutierrez and wife Tamara of Pampa; his favorite daughter, Nadia Silva and husband Jonas of Pampa; four grandchildren, Brandon of Denver, Colorado, Olivia and husband Roberto, Allyson, and Nayeli all of Pampa; three great-grandchildren, Ava, Rheydin, and Leila; seven sisters; two brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
