Joy Dean Warren Travis

Joy Dean Warren Travis, 83, of Pampa, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 in Pampa.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Joy was born on December 11, 1940 in Kaufman to Morris Harvey and Ollie Mae Nichols Warren. She was raised on the family farm in Forney. Joy had to leave school during her sophomore year of high school to help raise her sister after her mother’s sudden passing in 1954. She met her future husband, Guyion Travis III, on a blind date in 1956. The two were later married on December 31, 1960 in Forney. Joy and Guyion lived in Segovia, Mesquite, and Houston before settling in Pampa in 2004. She enjoyed watching movies, gardening, and taking care of her family.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Guyion Travis III of the home; two children, Gary Travis of Pampa and Terri Dingle and husband Jay of Cypress; her sister, Doris Medina of Forney; two grandchildren, Kimberly Bond and husband Tanner and Jason Dingle and wife Erica; four great-grandchildren, Emily, Kendall, Jack, and Evelyn “Joy”; and several nieces and nephews.
