Joyce Marie Brown

Joyce Marie Brown, 70, of Pampa, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024 in Pampa.

Services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ with Lynn Brown and Frankie Lemons, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Joyce was born on December 18, 1953 to J.D. Levi and Dorothy Lee Brown in Pampa. She came into the world alongside her twin sister and best friend, Vivian Brown. Joyce was raised in Pampa and graduated from Pampa High School in 1972. She took some college classes and became a certified nurse’s aide. Joyce worked at Pampa Nursing Center for several years and later as a meter maid for the Pampa Police Department. In 1991, Joyce and Vivian moved to Arlington and moved back to Pampa in 1995. They later moved to Grand Prairie in 2012, where they enjoyed serving in their church and meeting with their prayer group.

In 2020, after Vivian’s passing, Joyce moved back to Pampa. She taught several classes with the prison ministries until her health no longer allowed her to. Joyce was a faithful member of the Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her and her impact on the lives of those she ministered to will never be forgotten.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, J.D. Levi and Dorothy Lee Brown; and two sisters, Barbara Hughes and Vivian Brown.

She is survived by her three siblings, Lynn Brown and wife Mary of Mansfield, Kenneth Adkism and Donna Brown, both of Pampa; her special cousin and close friend, Ruthie Kemp of Borger; aunt, Hazel Cole of Denver, Colorado; and a host of nieces and nephews.
