Juan Flores, 67, of Pampa, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, September 26, 2024, in Pampa.
Viewing will be held from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Juan was born on January 18, 1957, in Taft, to Juan and Avelina Flores. He graduated in 1977 from Vici High School in Vici, Oklahoma. After graduating, he entered the United States Army and was stationed in Germany for four years. After serving his country, he began his career in construction as a carpenter. Juan was a carpenter for three decades working all around the United States. He moved to Pampa in 2004 to be closer to his children.
Juan was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was grounded in the Word of God. In his younger days, Juan loved to play golf, but as he got older, his new passion was fishing. He loved to travel until his health stopped him. Juan loved his family and his pride and joy, Mr. Dimples, his dachshund. You could always find him making jokes and making people laugh.
Juan is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Avelina Flores; sister, Vickie Bojorquez; brother, Gilbert Flores; niece, Bobbi Russell; and best friend of 20 years, Bill.
Juan is survived by his children, Jon Flores and partner Crystal Speights of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Juanita White and husband Ryan of Pampa, and Albe Flores; stepson, Eddie Gonsalez of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Christian Flores, Samuel Flores, and Jasper White; siblings, Armando Flores of Vici, Oklahoma, Mary Dye and husband Dennis Schandorf of Camargo, Oklahoma, Marcela Monden and husband R.L. of Stinnett, Connie Cuevas of Pampa, Rosie Russell and husband Bobby of San Angelo, Sylvia Dye and husband Gary of Burns Flat, Oklahoma, Pete Flores of Fargo, Oklahoma, Lupe Flores of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Senaida Webb of El Reno; his best friend since the 7th grade, Jan Trimble of Vici, Oklahoma; best friend of 50 plus years, Orval Cutsinger of Vici, Oklahoma; best friend of 48 years, Bobby Dye of Elk City, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
