Julius “Lynn” Ketchersid, 58, of Vernon and formerly of Pampa, died July 22, 2017 in Nashville, Tennessee.A private family graveside was held Friday, July 28, 2017 at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa. Arrangements were under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Ketchersid was born March 25, 1959 in Vernon to Lyndon and Geneva Ketchersid where he grew up and attended schools. Years later, he moved to Pampa where he went to work for Curtis Well Service. He met and married Sherilan Hopkins and she preceded him in death on November 2, 2012. In addition to working for Curtis Well Service, he also worked for WO Operating Services as a pumper. After Sherilan’s passing, he returned to Vernon where he could be closer to his family. He began working as a truck driver, driving coast to coast. When he wasn’t working, Lynn loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing. Survivors include his mother, Geneva Bridwell of Vernon; a brother, Dale Ketchersid of Vernon; two sisters, Lois Gibbs and husband Ronnie, and Patty Hall and husband Billy, all of Vernon; three stepsons, Marshall Hopkins and Monte Hopkins, both of Pampa, and Matt Hopkins of Lubbock; a stepdaughter, Melinda Marris of Mustang, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
