June Brooks, 87, beloved mother and grandmother, was called to her eternal resting place on September 12, 2018 in Provo, Utah.
Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Pampa, Texas, with Bishop Morris Morgan, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.
Mrs. Brooks was born June 26, 1931 in Dallas to Irl Harrison Lantz and Frances Schmegner Lantz. Her family moved to Abilene when she was a child. She attended school there and graduated from Abilene High School in 1950. While still in high school she met and dated Reid Brooks, they were married on October 21, 1950. In 1958 they moved to Pampa where they established their home and raised four children.
June was an Avon lady for over 40 years. She loved the associations with the many friends she made over the years selling Avon and always had a surplus in her Avon cabinet ready to give as gifts for any occasion. She enjoyed working in her yard and flower gardens, reading and cooking pancakes for her grandkids. June was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held positions of leadership and responsibility in the different organizations of the church over the years. She also loved music and enjoyed serving as a chorister.
June was preceded in death by her husband, Reid Brooks. Survivors include three sons, Neil Brooks and wife Jerilyn of Pampa, Martin Brooks of Azle, Tx, Paul Brooks and wife Pam of Sandy, Ut., one daughter, Angela Colton of Provo, Ut., 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way.
