June was born June 28, 1929, in Pampa to John and Duffie Richey. She graduated from Pampa High School in 1947 and married Deryl Robbins on August 29, 1948. They were married 59 years when Deryl passed away in 2007.
June worked as a bookkeeper for a couple of local businesses before she went to work at Pampa ISD as a secretary at Carver Center. She retired from PISD in 1983. Her favorite job, though, was raising her two children and being very involved in their activities when they were growing up. And, of course, being Mimi to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her Savior Jesus Christ, her family, and people were June’s three great loves. June was raised at First Assembly of God Church in Pampa and was a member there for over 60 years. She taught Sunday School in the children’s department for many years. How she loved children! She later became a member of Trinity Fellowship Church. June was a member of Women’s Aglow International when there was a chapter in Pampa. She also was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of Gideons International. She and her husband travelled to many churches where he would speak on behalf of the Gideons. They were also active in handing out Bibles to schools throughout the Panhandle for that organization.
June was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters, and a daughter, Cheryl Nohr.
She is survived by a son, Lonny Robbins and wife Gloria of Pampa; a son-in-law, John Nohr, of Cornell, WI; a granddaughter, Amy Robbins May and husband Ian of Trinity, FL; four grandsons, Nick Robbins and wife Kelsi of Amarillo, Isaac Nohr and wife Erin, Israel Nohr and wife Rachel, and Noah Nohr all of Cornell, WI; and eleven great-grandchildren, Luke, Isaiah, Jonah, and Kenzie May; Jude and Emery Robbins; Ryker, Riley, Peyton, Lizzie, and Logan Nohr.
The family would like to thank the staff at Meredith Court and Interim Hospice for their kind and gracious care of June.
Memorials may be made to Harvest House or Gideon’s International.
