Kathy Freeman, 57, of Pampa, passed away February 20, 2018 in Amarillo. Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Highland Baptist Church, with Pastor Paul Nachtigall, officiating. Cremation will follow under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Freeman was born May 3, 1960 in Pampa to Fletta and T. C. Wyatt. As a young girl, she lived in and attended school in Stamford. Later, she returned to Pampa where she would meet the love of her life, John Freeman, and they would wed on December 11, 1992 in Pampa. Kathy worked as a beautician for many years at Reflections Salon, and the last few years, she worked at Express Lane. She liked the outdoors where she could spend time fishing with her husband and enjoying being by the lake. Kathy was loved by many, and many people referred to her as “Mom.” She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Survivors include her husband, John Freeman of the home; a son, Johnny Berry and wife Nicola of Pampa; a daughter, Lisa Porterfield and husband Nathan of Pampa; three sisters, Patricia Johnson and Shawna Henry, both of Amarillo, and Dina Brown of Dalhart; 13 grandchildren, Caci, Michael, Jared, Nikala, Kallie, Ryan, Lilly, Carlee, Patrick, Walker, Ethan, Nash, and Parker; one great-granddaughter, Dallas “Bug”; and her mother-in-law, Thelma Freeman of Pampa. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Charles Wit Marsh. Memorials may be made to Highland Baptist Church, 1301 N. Banks, Pampa, Texas 79065. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 PM Friday, February 23, 2018, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
