Kathy Rodriguez, 63, of Amarillo passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2020 in Amarillo.
Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, July 10, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church in Pampa with Rick Pearson officiating. Cremation will follow under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. The service will be live streamed at https://www.carmichael-whatley.com/page/live-streaming
Kathy was born January 3, 1957 in Hobbs, New Mexico. She graduated from Pampa High School in 1975. On August 22, 1976 she married Benito Rodriguez in Hobbs. They lived in several towns in the panhandle and finally settled in Canadian to raise their family. While in Canadian, Kathy worked as a CNA at Edward Abraham Memorial Home for many years. In 2001 she moved to Amarillo and began a long career at Ware Memorial for 18 years. She worked as a CNA, in transportation, and finally as a receptionist up until February of 2020.
Kathy had many hobbies which include, coloring, arts and crafts, and drawing. She loved to cook for her family, karaoke, listening to gospel music, and gardening, especially green plants. “Grandma Kathy” loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was kindhearted and was always willing to help anyone she could. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband Benito Rodriguez of Amarillo; 3 daughters, Margarita Parker and husband Shannon of Moore, OK, Anita Ruiz and husband Tomas and Maria Land and husband David all of Pampa; 2 sons, Benito “BJ” Rodriguez and wife Christina of McLean, and Marcos Rodriguez of San Antonio; her mother, Joyce Hammon and husband Melvin of Pampa; her father, George Anderson of Oklahoma; sister, Lavon Bogle and husband Dewayne of Pampa; brother, Roy Anderson and wife San of Pampa; 22 grandchildren, Halie Parker, Hannah Parker, Shannon Parker II, Lilli Ruiz, Triston Ruiz, Addison Hook, Noah Rodriguez, Trinity Land, Jathan Rodriguez, Brendan Land, Jasper Rodriguez, Dawson Land, Tanner Burnett, Brian Daniels, Jr., KiYa Rodriguez, Allison Daniels, Amelia Rodriguez, Isabella Rodriguez, Jakob Nelson, Liam Rodriguez, Michelle Ruiz, and Anthony Blanco; 4 great grandchildren, Mariana Garcia, Aydrien Fields, Dezabella Wells, and Caspian Burnett; 2 step sisters, Karen Hammon of Oklahoma City, OK., and Donna Mendez and husband Jimmy of Lubbock; step brother, John Hammon and wife Daniele of Connecticut.
