Keith Millsap, 78, of Pampa, passed away on September 23, 2024, in Pampa.
Services for Keith are pending. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Keith was born on June 16, 1946, in Levelland to Wavel and Lovella Millsap. He grew up at the family farm just outside of Morton. After high school, Keith enrolled into college at West Texas State University, and that’s where he met Mikki Millsap. They later married on September 7, 1968, in McLean. After college, Keith worked in education as a teacher before he was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. After faithfully serving his country during wartime, he returned to Texas, and thereafter began his teacher career once again. As a teacher, Keith taught several subjects that included algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and helped as a coach.
Keith and Mikki traveled to and worked in various parts of the state and beyond before Mikki preceded him in death in 2023. Keith was an intelligent and talented man that worked in several different industries and capacities. He worked for several years at Mobil Oil, as a juvenile correction officer, had a stint with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, among others. In addition to his various occupations, Keith was a licensed paramedic and a volunteer firefighter. In his spare time, he appreciated the outdoors where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Wavel Leonard Millsap; a brother, David Millsap; and by a grandson, Dale Allen (Brodie) Millsap.
He is survived by two daughters, Joni Van Houten and husband Curtis of Weimar, and Meloni Meller and husband Roger of Pampa; brother, Kenneth Millsap of Corpus Christi; sister, Zelta Wolfenbarger of Amarillo; two grandsons, Phoenix Millsap and Kayden Smith; five granddaughters, Erika Van Houten, Kathryn Millsap, Morgan Meller, Erin Van Houten, Daphna Meller; as well as three half-granddaughters, Mia Sarabia, Stephanie Sarabia, and Anna Sarabia; a sister-in-law, Charlene Millsap of Levelland; and numerous “nother kids” nieces, nephews, and extended family.
