Keith Patterson, 87, of Pampa, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 in Pampa.
Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Friday, July 9, 2021 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Donald Hill, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Keith was born on July 24, 1933 in Beaver County, Oklahoma to JB and Pearl Campbell Patterson. He attended Perryton High School. Keith was an entrepreneur that was involved in many industries from being a drilling consultant to being an owner and operator of several successful restaurants and gas stations. He married Sandra Frazee Simpson in 1986. Keith enjoyed working with Sandra by his side for many years. He was a hardworking and honorable man, who was respected by many of his peers and subordinates. Keith enjoyed training and spending time with his dogs, Beowulf and Lady. He was a simple man who like the occasional drink of Wild Turkey, a cigarette, and a few good cups of coffee. Keith loved making his kids and grandkids pancakes for breakfast. He liked to go fishing every once in a while. Keith was a jack of all trades and a master of most. He never had any formal training, but was an outstanding electrician, mechanic, carpenter, and plumber. Keith could fix, build, or rewire anything. His family said he was the smartest man most of them had ever known. Keith will be remembered as a humble and gentle, Christian man whose loyalty and devotion to his family had no end.
He is preceded in death by his parents, JB and Pearl Patterson; his sister, Kayleen Dunn; a daughter, Marla Hornsby; and a grandson, Joseph Patterson.
Keith is survived by his wife of nearly 35 years, Sandra Patterson; 7 children, Mark Patterson, Jeff Patterson, Patti and Andrew Beard, Joe Patterson, Kim and Jason Schroeder, Cameron Simpson, and Alana Mowry; 13 grandchildren; Chrissy Bridges, Danielle and Lewis Ortega, Greg and Jessica Kirby, Melinda and Allen Taylor, Chris Patterson, Wesley and Christina Patterson, Jacee and Anthony Morris, Keaton and Elijah White, Colton Patterson, Nicole and Cody Chapman, Ashley Schroeder, Caitlyn and Trevor McSperitt, and Chance Simpson; 24 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; a sister, Jan Rinker and her family; special family member, John Strong; several niece and nephews that he loved dearly; and a host of friends.
