Kenneth Brumley, 79, of Spring, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2020 in The Woodlands.
Memorial graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Hansford Cemetery in Spearman with Mike Shehane, son-in-law, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mr. Brumley was born on November 3, 1941 in Many, LA to Tom and Rachel Fyke Brumley. Kenneth graduated from Smiley High School in Houston. He married his sweetheart Sally Mary Edna Colquitt on April 14, 1962 in Houston. She passed away on August 18, 2019. Kenneth graduated from the Houston Police Academy and then joined the Houston Police Department, where he served with his three brothers before retiring after 27 years. After his retirement, Kenneth returned to work for the City of Houston hiring Civilian Personnel where he received a second retirement. He moved to Pampa in 2006 and worked at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a Laundry Manager for 5 years. Kenneth loved fishing, hunting, reading, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Kenneth Ray Brumley II on August 24, 2018.
Survivors include his daughter, Keaka Renee Shehane and husband Michael of Spring; three grandchildren, Malia Lasoya, Alena Lasoya, and Travis Kohlhauff; one great-grandson, Caleb Kenneth Lasoya and his best friend and HPD partner, Fred Delacruz.
