Kenneth James Pitman, Jr., 84, of Pampa passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2019 in Amarillo.
No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Kenneth was born January 4, 1935 in Ashland, Kansas to Kenneth and Dorothy Pitman. He graduated from Littlefield High School and went on to serve faithfully in US Air Force. Kenneth married Shirley Carr on April 7, 1956; they have lived in Pampa for the past 30 years. He retired from Hoechst Celanese after 20 years of service. After his retirement he began consulting for various companies. Kenneth enjoyed fishing, was an avid reader, loved to cook, and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Gary Pitman and Donny Pitman; 2 sons-in-law, Jamie Day and Greg Greenhouse.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Shirley of the home; 4 daughters, Sonja Daniel, Sherry Day, Gina Hill and husband Ronnie, and Trisha Kindle and husband Jeff; 5 brothers and sisters, Rosalie Davis, Bobby Pitman, Johnny Pitman, Carl Pitman, and Mary Vorheis; 5 grandchildren, Karra Smith, Keeley Hadley, Kyler Pitman, Gage Greenhouse, and Ethan Pitman; and 10 great grandchildren.
