Laqueta Russell

Laqueta Russell, 75, of Borger, formerly of Skellytown, passed away November 14, 2018 in Borger.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Friday, November 16, 2018, at Miami Cemetery, with Rev. Carter Pirtle, pastor of First Baptist Church of Skellytown, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.

Laqueta was born July 6, 1943 in Durant, Oklahoma to Opal and Homer Dunn. As a young girl, her family moved to Pampa where she would attend school. During high school, she met her high school sweetheart, Mark Russell, and they wed on April 3, 1962 in Pampa. He preceded her in death on December 13, 2013. She worked as a homemaker, caring for her three children. Laqueta was a lover of animals and children, but what brought her most joy was having her whole family around. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Survivors include a daughter, Jo Lynn McComack and husband Jim of Oklahoma; a son, Matt Russell and wife Thelma of Stinnett; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Opal and Homer Dunn; a son, Darin Russell; a grandson, Ridge Russell; two brothers, Bill Dunn and Larry Dunn; and two sisters, Geneva Walker and Donna Cano.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
