Linda Lou Velasquez

Linda Lou Velasquez, 72, of Pampa, passed away January 31, 2020 in Pampa.

In a continuation of helping others, Linda’s last wishes were for her body to be donated to science in hope to help others.

Celebration of life memorial services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, February 3, 2020 at In the Garden Ministries of Skellytown with Pastor Steve Huckins, officiating.

Linda was born on August 4, 1947 to Gladys and Harold Wolff in Racine, Wisconsin. She grew up and attended school in Wisconsin before meeting the love of her life, Jesus Velasquez, Sr., while he was working for the Railroad. She moved to Texas with him and shortly after, they got married in 1965 where they shared many great years of marriage before, he preceded her in death in 2016.

Linda worked in the service industry for several years, owning and operating her own café, Linda’s Café in Lefors. She also worked for Furr’s Cafeteria, Taylor Mart, and had a long tenure at Allsup’s. She enjoyed working at Allsup’s and pretty much knew all her customers by name. She was a member of In the Garden Ministries. Linda was a talented woman who enjoyed arts and crafts which included drawing and crocheting. She also like to cook for her family as well. Above all, she loved her entire family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Velasquez, Sr.;  parents, Gladys and Harold Wolff; a daughter, Crystal Velasquez; and by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jesse and Guadalupe Velasquez.

Her survivors include 5 daughters, Tina Shackleford and husband John, April Velasquez, Monica Velasquez, all of Pampa, Laura Velasquez and husband Lawrence Norris of Wyoming, and Cindy Velasquez and husband Jeremy Helfer of Pampa; 1 son, Jesus Velasquez, Jr. and wife Karen of Pampa; 2 sisters, Beverly Wolverton and husband, Cliff Flemming of Lefors, and Janet Vanneerbeek of San Diego, California; 21 grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; and numerous extended family.
