Lois Louise Brooks, 93, of Pampa, passed away August 16, 2018 in Pampa.
Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Brooks was born June 1, 1925 in San Francisco, California. She attended school in California and met Wayne there while he was serving our country in the U.S. Navy. They married on November 16, 1947 in Weatherford, Texas and made their home in Pampa in that same year. Lois was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she and Wayne were baptized together on October 4, 2009. Lois enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, flowers, birds and watching Texas Ranger baseball. She had an avid interest in world politics and would always share her concerns and opinions. Her greatest love was for “Mr. Brooks”, the five girls they raised together and being informed of her many grandchildren. Her life gave witness to the fruit of the spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Survivors include her husband of 70+ years, Wayne Brooks of the home; five daughters, Pamela Brooks Cutlip of Slidell, Louisiana, Phyllis Dominey and husband Frank, Marcella Brooks, and Belinda Waldrip and husband Royce, all of Pampa, and Annette Wallace and husband Randy of Highland Village; a sister, Jackie Bloise and husband Al of Paradise, California; nine grandchildren, Sheri Collins, Debbie Collins, Greg Poole and wife Marsha, Brandy Hood, Judd Atchley and wife Pam, Katina Eastman and husband Chad, Bryan Waldrip and wife Mandy, Morgan Schaaf and husband Tyler, and Brooks Wallace; and 12 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way. Lois was preceded in death by a grandson, Shane Kennedy and Sooner, their beloved pet of 16 years.
Memorials may be made to Interim Hospice, 2217 Perryton Pkwy, Pampa, Texas 79065; or a charity of choice.
