Lola Francis Huckins, 87, of Skellytown, passed away January 27, 2020 in Borger.
Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at Memory Gardens Mausoleum, with B. P. Vinson and the Huckins family officiating. Entombment will follow in Memory Gardens Mausoleum under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Huckins was born December 5, 1932 in Hutchinson County to Ernest and Myra Hutchinson. She attended Spring Creek Grade School and White Deer High School. She met the love of her life, Norvel Huckins, and they wed on April 16, 1950. Norvel preceded her in death on March 14, 2019, a month shy of their 70th wedding anniversary.
Lola was a cook in Dalhart for Reynold’s Cattle Company for a few years, but she was mainly a homemaker to Norvel and their family. She loved to sing, dance and do crossword puzzles, and loved being around her family. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Norvelene Contaskos and husband Tony of Ashfield, MA, and Teresa Gillman and husband Bruce of Borger; three sons, Steven Huckins and wife Sheryl of Skellytown, Tim Huckins and wife Jean of Pampa, and Terry Huckins of San Antonio; 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-granddaughters.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and four sisters.
