Lorenzo Montanez

Lorenzo Montanez, 72, of Pampa passed away on September 25, 2020 in Amarillo.

Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, September 28, 2020 at Iglesia Apostolica Bajo la Gracia de Dios with Pastor Oscar Frayre officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mr. Montanez was born August 10, 1948 in Mexico.  He married Juana Alvarado in 1970 in Mexico before moving to California.  Lorenzo has been a welder from a young age in Mexico and the United States.  They lived in Whittier, California from 1971 until 2013 when they moved to Pampa to retire.  He has been a member of Iglesia Apostolica Bajo la Gracia de Dios since 2013. Lorenzo was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  He enjoyed taking his grandchildren to school and other activities.  He loved his wife and took great care of her and his family.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by wife, Juana Montanez of the home; a daughter, Karla Montanez of Pampa; a son, Larry Montanez and wife Daisy of Whittier, California; a sister, Marta Rubio and husband Jeremias of Dallas; 8 grandchildren, Francisco Casillas, Karla Casillas, Carlos Casillas, Karina Casillas, Larry Montanez, Jr, Yavery Montanez, Emma Montanez, and Leon Montanez.
