Lynda Arreola, 74, of Pampa, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, in Amarillo with family by her side.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 22, 2022, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, in Pampa, with Rev. Hrudaya Raju Kondamudi, pastor of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Panhandle, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Rosary will be held at 6:00 PM Friday, October 21, 2022, in the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel.
Lynda was born on May 18, 1948, in El Campo, Texas to JD and Ruby May Wright. Her family moved a few times when Lynda was a child, to cities including Bakersfield, California and Seymour, Missouri. She graduated from high school in Missouri, and soon after, she attended cosmetology school.
In 1974, Lynda met Pedro Arreola while working at Furr’s Cafeteria in Wichita, Kansas. The two of them dated for a while, and one weekend, decided to visit Pampa. Lynda and Pedro loved Pampa so much that they moved here in 1975 and have lived here ever since. They got married on June 25, 1975, in Pampa, and raised all four of their children here. On February 4, 1980, they renewed their wedding vows at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
While living in Pampa, Lynda received her Associate degree in Secretarial Science from Clarendon College. She held the secretary position at many local businesses including Shed Realty and Kelly’s Services at Celanese. She was also a library clerk for some time. Although she officially retired in 2006, Lynda immediately began her job as the secretary for A&T Yard Services, Inc. and was employed there until her passing.
Lynda had many hobbies which included reading, singing, and watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Food Network on TV. She loved the Lord and loved her family dearly. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Lynda was a selfless person who would do anything for anyone, and she will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
Lynda is preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law, Celestino Arreola; and her mother-in-law, Juanita Arreola.
She is survived by her husband, Pedro Arreola of the home; her four children, David Arreola and wife Crystal, and Richard Arreola and wife Patricia, all of Pampa, Carmen Arreola and fiancé Marcell Brown of Lubbock, and Veronica Ramirez and husband Rodney of Amarillo; 13 grandchildren, Ryan Arreola of Pampa, Colby Arreola and wife Jaycee of Ft. Mojave, Arizona, Evan Arreola and fiancée Kylie, Isaih Arreola, J.D. Arreola, Luis Arreola, Kassidie Arreola, Jessie Holt, Waylan Holt, Dylan Holt, all of Pampa, Chad Brown of Lubbock, Marc Ramirez and LynnLee Ramirez, both of Amarillo; 3 great-grandchildren, Camden Arreola, Bentley Arreola, and Cora Arreola; two brothers, Larry Wright and Jay Donald Wright; and two sisters, Rebecca Russell and husband Quentin, and Juanita Glenn; and numerous nieces and nephews throughout Texas and Missouri.
