Marcus Wade Matthews

Marcus Wade Matthews, 48, of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 in Pampa.

No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Marcus was born on April 29, 1975 in Greeneville, Tennessee. He was raised all over the country. Marcus graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1995. After graduation Marcus entered the United States Army. When Marcus left the military, he entered the workforce and started taking care of his family.

Marcus enjoyed riding his motorcycle, cooking, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed getting tattoos when he could. Marcus was a straightforward and transparent man, but he had a heart of gold and would do anything for the people he loved. If he loved you, you knew it.

Marcus was preceded in death by his mom, Geraldean Matthews; one son, Blake Alexander Douglas Matthews; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

He is survived by his dad, Lonnie Lynn Matthews; three children, Dakota Matthews, Tacoma Matthews, and Taylea Matthews; and six grandchildren, Daltyn Matthews, D’lyn Matthews, Caylin Matthews, Maverick Matthews, Serenity Matthews, and Blakely Baggett.
