Margie Don Putman

Margie Don Putman, 87, of Pampa, passed away March 31, 2019 in Pampa.

A private cremation graveside service will be held in Albuquerque at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.

Margie was born on July 12, 1931 in Dalhart to Laura Mae and Ray Tucker. As a young girl her family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where she grew up and attended school. After school she eventually moved to Amarillo. She later met and married Paul Putman in 1954. They enjoyed several years together before they divorced. Even though they separated they remained good friends until he preceded her in death. Margie worked in bookkeeping for many years in the optical business and worked as the bookkeeper and office manager of Texas State Optical in both Amarillo and Oklahoma City, retiring in 1994. In her spare time, she loved to collect and restore various dolls and she also enjoyed sewing.

The family would like to express gratitude to Interim Hospice for their loving care of Margie.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, by her former husband, one son, Woodrow Putman; two brothers, Rex Tucker and Gid Tucker; two nieces, Rowena Hogan and Shirley Godbey; and by nephew, Sandy Tucker.

Her survivors include her daughter, Laura Don Endsley and husband Dennis of Portland, OR; two sisters, Jan Trimble of Pampa and by Sherry Tucker of Amarillo; a brother, Terry Tucker of Amarillo; two granddaughters, Dreamia Klein and husband Roger of Pampa, and by Jennifer Hampton and husband Travis of Richland Hills; two grandsons, Vance Endsley and Matt Endsley, both of Portland, OR; two great-grandsons, Hoot Tucker and Hawk Tucker, both of Pampa; one great-great-granddaughter, Tylee Tucker of Amarillo; two special nieces, Vicki Fowler and husband Ronnie and Roxanna Dumond, all of Rome; by a special friend, Angela Bunegar of Pampa; and by numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
