Margie Wilson Dennis

November 10, 1932 — April 24, 2020

Margie Wilson Dennis, 87, of Seymour and formerly of Pampa, passed away April 24, 2020 in Seymour. 

Due to the current community regulations regarding large gatherings, a private family service will be held on Monday, April 27, 2020 at Mobeetie Cemetery with Pastor Paul Nachtigall of Highland Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.

Mrs. Dennis was born on November 10, 1932 in Mobeetie to Jack and Mable Wilson.  Margie attended school in Mobeetie, Pampa, and graduated from Borger High School in 1951. She married James Dennis on September 2, 1981 in Lovington, New Mexico.  He preceded her in death on November 12, 2011.  Margie raised her 4 children in Skellytown, where she was a member of First Baptist Church of Skellytown.  Margie loved her family and enjoyed playing with all her grandchildren.  She was known as “Bobbie” to all her grandchildren and their friends. Her family knew when dinner was ready when the smoke alarm went off. Mom loved to work outside in her flowers and generally loved sitting outside in the fresh air. She loved to joke and play around and loved to greet the trick or treaters in her witch’s hat. Margie loved to travel and she always put her foot in every body of water she visited. 

She was preceded in death by twin daughters, Paula and Sheryl Sangster, great granddaughter, Mattie McLarty, and brothers, Jim Wilson and Bill Dale Wilson.

Survivors include three daughters, Carla Gifford and husband Robert of Breckenridge, Margie McLarty and husband Pete of Seymour and Diana Bruner and husband Denver of Levelland; son, Joe Sangster of Amarillo; thirteen grandchildren, Freddie Hutchinson, Rachel Brown and husband Ron, Travis Hutchinson and wife Amanda, Craig Gifford and wife Brandi, Ricky Sangster, Jennifer Arnold and husband Toby, Nickolaus Sangster, Craig McLarty and wife Kayla, Seth McLarty and wife Jessica, Robert Bruner and wife Aline, Valarie Lashaway and husband Jake, Coleman Bruner and wife Heather and Austin Bruner; thirty one great-grandchildren, Tyler, Mason, Hunter, Quinton, D.J., Kalob, Aliya, Emma, Zoey, Ethan, Kirstien, Autumn, Shelby, Andie, Damion, Hayley, Thomas, Eli, Remington, Rylee, Miranda, David, Freya, Liz, Alli, Benicio, Valentino, Everett, Walker, Cooper and Ricky, six great-great-grandchildren, Atlas, Freya Brooke, Isaac, Raiden, Serenity and Alexandra; sister-in-law, Ernestine Wilson of Borger; two cousins, Valois Hughes of Fort Worth and Gerald Myers of Lubbock.

The family would like to thank Seymour Home Health; Hospice of Wichita Falls, Bryan and Cassidy for their wonderful care; and her sitters Carmen, Kimmy and Janie.
