Marian R. Stroup passed away peacefully on May 4, 2021 in Pampa.
Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, May 7, 2021 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with John Curry, officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 PM Friday, May 7, 2021 at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Stroup was born May 12, 1932 in Canyon to Marion Ray and Jewel McReynolds. Marian was raised in Canyon and graduated from Canyon High School. She married E. O. "Jack" Stroup in 1971 in Amarillo. He preceded her in death on July 23, 2000. Marian owned Ethridge Claims Service in Pampa along with her husband, Jack Stroup, and operated the company until her retirement in 2014. She was very active in Pampa Fine Arts Association and Altrusa International in Pampa in the 1970's thru 1990's. She was also active in Bravo and Golden Nail in Amarillo during the 1990's.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Teri Kay Keeling in 2012.
Marian is survived by her son, Stephen Heare of Pampa; her sister, Dorothy Patterson and husband Don of Amarillo; a son-in-law, Jimmy Keeling of Canyon; three grandsons, Adam Heare of Tulsa, A.J. Keeling of Ft. Worth, and Daniel Heare of Pampa; a granddaughter, Annalee Moore of Tulia; and 16 great grandchildren.
