Marilyn Kirkwood, 84, formerly of Pampa, passed away on Tuesday June12, 2018 in McKinney.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Kirkwood was born January 25, 1934 in Chanute, KS. She married James K. Kirkwood on August 6, 1954 in White Deer before moving to Pampa. He preceded her in death on August 24, 2008.
Marilyn was a librarian at Travis and Lamar Elementary schools for 32 years. She taught the 5 year old Sunday school class at First Baptist Church, with her husband, for over 30 years. She was a very talented and creative person who enjoyed painting. In her free time, she volunteered at Good Sam. Marilyn was longtime a member at First Baptist Church. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend.
Survivors include her daughter, Jami Parham and husband Graham of Dallas; her sister Ruth Ann Bailey and husband Martin; two nieces, Marla Bailey, Kim McClure and husband Caleb; three nephews, Mark Bagley and wife Dianna, Kenny Kirkwood and wife Jean, Paul David Kirkwood and Roy Duwane Kirkwood; three great nephews, Alexander McClure, Kenneth Kirkwood and Johnathon Kirkwood and Molly, 2 great nieces, Errin and Torey Bagley; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Kirkwood.
