Mark Connell

Mark Connell, 54, of Lefors, passed away February 11, 2018 in Lefors. Services will be 4:30 PM Friday, February 16, 2018, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Jon Watson, chaplain of Open Heart Hospice, officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Heights Cemetery in Lefors under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mark was born March 5, 1963 in Pampa to Sherry and Malcolm Connell. He was a lifetime resident of Lefors where he attended school, graduating from Lefors High School in 1981. Soon after graduating, he would begin his long career in the oil and gas industry where he would work for Curtis Well Service and Eastex Crude. Mark eventually would meet Belinda Furgerson, and they married on October 23, 1995 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed watching the Patriots play and watching the Ultimate Fighting Championship with his son Dylan. Mark was a hard worker but he also knew how to have a good time, a good laugh, and have an adventurous spirit. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, and he will be greatly missed by all. Survivors include his wife, Belinda of the home; a daughter, Amanda Hicks and fiancé Jonathan Tinney; two sons, Dylan Connell and wife Kerri of Lefors, and Ryan Connell of Somerset, Massachusetts; two sisters, Tess Harden and husband Jerry of Lefors, and Crystal Brown of Galveston; two brothers, Jody Roberts and wife Laurie of Plano, and Tony Eldridge of Hobbs, New Mexico; two grandsons, Braxton Moler and Thomas Connell, both of Lefors; aunt, Barbara Ence of Alvord. Mark was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mandy Roberts; a brother, Randy Eldridge; and his stepfather, Eddie Joe Roberts.
