Mark T. Lamar, Sr., 62, of Pampa, passed away on April 16, 2023, in Pampa.
Celebration of life memorial services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, April 24, 2023, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Dr. Alberta Helton, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Mark was born on May 6, 1960, in Amarillo to Tom and Donna Lamar. Mark grew up and attended school in Pampa. After school, he entered the Pipeline industry, working for many years and spanning many states that included Texas, Alaska, Colorado, and others. He also owned and operated Speedway Tires for a few years, an accomplishment he was very proud of.
Outside of work, Mark also had a fondness for cars, especially fast ones! He also liked fishing and going to the mountains. Mark will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; a granddaughter, Heaven Dunn, a niece, Kaysi Folsom; and by a stepfather, Randy Slavick.
Mark is survived by two daughters, Melanie Lamar of Sherman, and Jennifer Kent and husband Adam of Pampa; two sons, Mark Lamar II and wife Robin of Elk City, Oklahoma, and Dustin Smith and wife January of Amarillo; mother, Donna Davidson of Pampa; nine grandchildren, Dylan, Jeremy, Kiersten, Kellen, Aubrey, Kaybree, Noah, Henley, and River; five great-grandchildren, Kehlani, Eli, Ezrah, Emilia, and Carter; a sister, Debbie Douglas and husband Raymond of Pampa; numerous nieces and nephews that he was close to; and many treasured cousins.
