Mark "Pawdad" Douglas Poindexter Friend

Mark “Pawdad” Douglas Poindexter Friend, 63, of Pampa passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020 in Pampa.

Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Hillside Christian Church in Pampa with Rev. Mike Watson, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Dumas, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mark was born on October 31, 1956 in South Greenfield, MO to Stanford Taylor and Doris Poindexter Friend. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1975 and then attended Frank Phillips. He married Angie Shilling on October 13, 1984 in Pampa. Mark enjoyed shooting, hunting, fishing, riding horses, and going to the movies. He was a dedicated husband, father, and Pawdad. Mark was a generous man that would drop everything to help someone.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mark is survived by his wife, Angie Friend of the home; daughter, Shauna Harris and husband Jake of Amarillo; brother, Stanford Taylor II and wife Michelle of Coppell; 2 sisters, Willa Cassaday of Ft. Worth and Lisa Craig and husband Alan of Coppell; and grandchildren Austyn Noelle Harris and another one on the way.
